OverView

The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa is an art museum-centric multipurpose facility for citizens of Kanazawa city, where cultures both new and old alike exist together in an ideal form. The 122 sheets of partitioned and cast curved glass screens wrap around the 350m exterior without obstructing the line of sight from both inside and outside of the building, showing that the building is open to the community.

Each sheet is approximately 3m x 4.5m curved glass. Combining them in frameless fashion emphasizes the beauty of this discus-like structure.
