OverView

Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge is the world’s longest suspension bridge. Located in a harsh natural environment, the structural materials of the bridge is well-protected by AGC’s fluoropolymer resin Lumiflon™, which provides excellent weather resistance ensuring long-lasting protection.

Lumiflon coating lasts for many times longer than acrylic and polyurethane resin-based film (effects vary by environment), reducing the frequency of repainting and helping to keep the costs substantially lower. Lumiflon is also beneficial in environmental protection as it helps to reduce the amount of waste and the total environmental burden caused by volatile solvents used in each repainting.

Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge maintains its ever-lasting sheen even after much time has passed. Behind the dynamic views of the bridge is AGC’s fluoropolymer technology.
